
Ken Kaufman has more than 20 years of courtroom experience representing clients in business litigation involving commercial lease, construction, real estate, employment, insurance, environmental and other matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies.
Ken’s experience also includes numerous arbitrations and mediations, particularly with respect to construction and other contract-based disputes.
In addition to cases in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia, Ken has argued cases in federal and state courts in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Oklahoma and Florida.
Ken graduated from Georgetown Law where he edited and contributed to the American Criminal Law Review.

Successful representation of a financial insurer that resulted in a corporate issuer of insured bonds paying $25 million of insured bond principal.

Representation of a commercial landlord in resolving a case of tenant holdover, which resulted in the payment of over $150,000 more than the landlord had originally sought, together with attorneys’ fees.

Representation of a client against property and casualty insurers for the client’s contribution to the clean up of a Superfund site. Ken obtained over $2 million in settlements on his client’s behalf.

Successful representation of a natural gas pipeline client in enjoining the enforcement of regulations of the Federal Energy and Regulatory Commission (FERC) that required the (potentially devastating) disclosure of private contract terms.
